This section of the Waimakariri River was a challenging but rewarding subject to paint, with its swirling waters of varying depths, causing colour shifts and optical distortions.
Subtle but notable colour changes were evident, where the crystal clear water transitions from the shallow edges to the deeper central section. To further emphasise directional flow, I slightly exaggerated the foreground perspective.
